MAKERSPACE INTERNSHIP (2018-2020)
The Makerspace Internship program was created to allow students to learn safety procedures and practices to help my engineering teacher maintain the large makerspace we had. We were in charge of the students when the teacher was not present, maintaining and cleaning the room after a class, maintain, oil, and clean all machines and keep up with the proper maintenance schedule. We also were in charge of all manufacturing orders we received from the city or other teachers or students, from signs to banners, to Christmas ornaments. From the invoices to the manufacturing we were fully autonomous without the help from our instructor.
My specialty was the 3D printers. I was responsible for approving and printing all 3D prints for the school. We had a total of over 20 3D printers I kept operational and maintained consistently. I changed filament, changed belts, adjusted belts, disassembled printer heads when filament was stuck inside.Â
I managed more than 15 teirtime UP 3D printers, 2 Stratasys F170s, 1 Stratasys F270, Markforge Onyx Pro, and a Formlabs Form 2.
I was also trained and performed upkeep on the CNC router, Laser Engraver, Table Saw, Miter Saws, Band Saws, Mill and Lathe, and more.
